IWC Unveils Aquatimer Collaboration with 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom'

IWC has unveiled a limited-edition watch pack, produced in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures‘ upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The collaboration comes to life in the form of two Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month examples, each limited to 25 examples.

These two limited editions by the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer were inspired by the prop watches it made for the film’s villains, Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Dr. Stephen Shin, played by Randall Park. The production watches aim to capture the same striking red and blue glow that the prop watches respectively produce.

The Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month comes in two versions (Ref. IW379405 and IW379406), both featuring black dials and hands, complemented by red or blue Super-LumiNova. This high-tech ceramic compound, blended with luminous pigments, acts like a light storage battery, emitting a vivid glow in dark or underwater conditions.

Boasting 49-millimeter cases, these watches are some of the largest ever produced by IWC and are constructed from the brand’s patented Ceratanium, a fusion of titanium’s lightness and ceramic’s scratch resistance. This material is specially forged to IWC’s specifications, for both durability and a unique aesthetic.

As for functionally, the watches feature a perpetual calendar with digital displays for date and month, making them easily readable. The mechanism is programmed to recognize varying month lengths and leap years, powered by the IWC-manufactured 89802 caliber and also includes a chronograph function, as well as a power reserve of 68 hours.

For divers, the Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month offers IWC’s SafeDive system — ensuring dive time safety with an external/internal rotating bezel system, preventing unintentional adjustments.

This collaboration between IWC and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom highlights a synergy of horology and storytelling, where precision meets cinematic magic. The watches are available at selected IWC boutiques and come with a 6-year extension to the standard 2-year warranty under the My IWC care program.

The IWC x Warner Bros. Pictures’ upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom limited edition Aquatimers are set to release later today, December 19, via IWC’s official site, just days ahead of the film’s December 22 premiere date.
