Harry Potter and The Cursed Child's trailer released

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child’s ‘official movie trailer’ released with a brand new batch of Wizards’ heading to Hogwarts – but not all is as it seems

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child’s movie trailer debuted this week which saw a whole new batch of young Wizard’s heading to Hogwarts.

Based on the sell-out London stage play the teaser sees an adult Harry, complete with bushy beard, sending his son Albus to the magical school.

The spooky trailer also features headmaster Dumbledore who, despite dying in franchise’s sixth film, says ominously in late actor Michael Gambon’s voice: ‘Memory is everything, without it we are blind.’

Despite it’s 2024 release date fans may have a much longer wait as the video was actually created with Aritifical intelIigence and there no current plans for a big screen adaptation.

The play opened in London in 2016 before later opening on Broadway and around the world breaking box office records.

Daniel Radcliffe, who found fame as Harry, previously revealed that he would never see the play in the theatre because he’d be too concerned that he was being watched.

The actor, 34, was making an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers when he made the shocking admission.

‘I’m probably not going to, I don’t have plans to. Not because I think it would throw me into some existential crisis of like, ‘Oh, is that what happened?’ But more so I just feel like it would not be a relaxing evening in the theater.’

He continued: ‘I would feel like I [was] being watched for my reaction.

‘And maybe that is completely conceited and egotistical and people wouldn’t care, but I do feel if I was just surrounded by Harry Potter fans, it would be a little odd.

Discussing whether he’d don a disguise in order to see the play, he joked: ‘The thing about a disguise is that if it stops working, then you’re just a dude who wore a disguise.’

Daniel took on the role of The Boy Who Lived when he was just eleven years old, and he played the titular character for ten years as part of the global phenomenon.

The play runs over two parts, with each spanning a massive 2.5 hours across separate performances.

The spooky trailer also features headmaster Dumbledore who, despite dying in franchise’s sixth film, says ominously in late actor Michael Gambon ‘s voice: ‘Memory is everything, without it we are blind.’
