Emmerdale: Victoria tells Jacob it has to be ‘over’
Emmerdale fans were left shocked when they were given an update on past character Robert Sugden in Wednesday evening’s episode of the ITV show. Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) came clean about her relationship with Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) after he saw a text on her phone.
“If Jacob is The One, then wait for him,” he advised her while they sat in The Woolpack and had a heart-to-heart over a drink. Victoria added: “Robert’s doing OK. Whilst we’re talking about The One.”
“Didn’t ask,” Aaron quickly said, before adding: “I’m going to change the subject.” Aaron and Robert (played by Ryan Hawley) were a couple before they were torn apart in 2019.
Fans were left elated by the mere mention of the past character as it reminded them of the pair, who were known as Robron. Viewers rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their excitement about the update on the former character.
One fan wrote: “Considering Vic was the original #Robron shipper and Aaron’s close mate once upon a time, I have nothing but fond feels about a chat with her (including a Robert mention) being the thing that makes the softer dimensions of our lovable bucket of thunder surface. #emmerdale.”(sic)

Another eagle-eyed viewer said: “They need to bring Robert back already!!!! #Emmerdale.”
A third added: “Seeing Aaron’s smile is everything! His friendship with Vic is so lovely, more please! And mentioning ‘waiting for the one’ my heart!

Robert’s final scenes saw the character sent to jail after he turned himself in for attacking Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) who had raped his sister Victoria.
Ever since Danny Miller’s return to the soap, fans have been pining over Robron, hoping the pair would be reunited one day.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITVX.
