BBC Strictlys Ellie Leach supported by famous cousin who shares childhood snaps ahead of final

Ellie Leach is just hours away from the Strictly Come Dancing final – as she and partner Vito Coppola will battle it out to lift the glitterball trophy.

Ahead of her taking to the dancefloor, Ellie’s famous cousin, fellow Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent, has proudly supported her.

Brooke shared a series of adorable pictures from her childhood with Ellie, showing just how close the two soap stars are.

In a loving message, Brooke, who played Sophie Webster in Corrie, wrote on Instagram: "Bleach … @ellielouiseleach. I will never have the words to explain how proud I am and have always been of you…this journey has been different!

"It’s been more than a competition and I am so happy that the world gets to see exactly why we all love you so much! GOOD LUCK tonight to our very own dancing queen! You have given everything and more to this & there’s not a doubt in my mind that this is the start of a new chapter for you!!

"This is your time to shine exactly like you have been doing!.. I love you El,so so much, we are all right behind you as always."

Ellie’s other Corrie co-stars got behind her as Samia Longchambon wrote: “Fingers Crossed for tonight!! You’ve been incredible @ellielouiseleach” and Lucy Fallon shared a trophy emoji.

Meanwhile Emmerdale ’s Danny Miller said: “Come on Ellie!!!!!!!”

It’s not the first time Brooke has publicly shared her support for Ellie.

She was one of Ellie’s family members who made a aweet video montage with messages of support on Friday's episode of It Takes Two.

Strictly finalist Ellie appeared emotional as she sat alongside dance partner Vito Coppola and told former Strictly pro and It Takes Two host Janette Manrara that she felt she had "already won".

Janette played Ellie the clip of Brooke, her parents, sister and best friend all sending her their heartfelt messages

But it was all too much for Ellie who felt emotional as she listened to her family say how proud they were of her.

In the video montage from her family, Brooke shared: "Ellie is like the loveliest person. Every week when we sit down and watch her it’s like we see a new part of her come out.

"She's grown up like a woman, she's grown in confidence. She's just growing."

Ellie played Faye Windass on Coronation Street from 2011 until earlier this year while her cousin, Brooke, 31, played Sophie Webster from 2004 until 2019.

Brooke added of the final: "Just go out there and have the best time!"

Ellie's parents Alan and Karen were also emotional as they praised their "loveable" daughter.

Karen said: "She's always been quite shy and really loveable."

After the video, Ellie was seen wiping away tears again. The soap star was then asked how it would feel to win Strictly and take home the Glitterball trophy.

She explained: "I think, for us, we always just live in the present. We've always said, live in the present, don't think too much about the future because you'll miss the tiny details.

"For me, all I wanted to do was enjoy myself and I wanted to make Vito proud. I wanted to make my family proud and I wanted to make myself proud. I think I've done that! So for me, that feels like I've already won!"

She continued: "But if we were to lift the Glitterball, it would be the most incredible feeling and I've just been so grateful for this whole experience.

"It would be amazing but I really do feel like I've already won" to which Vito sweetly replied: "You have!"
